Develop your skills with the Scotland Excel Academy
New CMI Leadership & Management cohort begins in March 2022
The Scotland Academy is inviting applications for the next cohort in its Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Management and Leadership portfolio.
The CMI Level 5 diploma in Management and Leadership is aimed at aspiring and practising managers who want to develop their core management skills and achieve a recognised qualification.
The new cohort kicks off on 10 March 2022 with an online workshop to introduce students to the programme and familiarise them with Scotland Excel's interactive, work-based learning methodology.
A further seven workshops will take place over twelve months covering a wide range of essential business topics including managing and leading teams, coaching and mentoring, developing stakeholder relationships, and managing risk.
Each workshop is complemented by guided learning through the Scotland Excel Academy Moodle platform, and includes online content and group discussions.
Details of all subjects covered can be found in the programme flyer which is available to download from the Scotland Excel Academy website. As well as gaining a Level 5 Diploma, on successful completion of the programme students can undertake a further assessment to achieve CMI Chartered Manager (CMgr) status.
Former students have found the programme to be hugely beneficial for their career and skills development. Asked about the course, Susan from Renfrewshire Council said:
"The Academy has been vital for my professional development. Information to boost our learning is easily accessible, guidance for each learning outcome is readily available and the trainers are always on hand to offer help and support. I can’t recommend it enough”.
Her thoughts are echoed by Sadie at West Lothian Council who said:
“The content of the course and much needed research has helped me to adapt and evolve as a person, and I feel better placed to take on changing demands and challenges. It is one of the best educational courses I have experienced whilst working with my current organisation. I will be forever grateful to all Scotland Excel Academy lecturers for their time and commitment to me during workshops, on-going chats, and the Academy forum”.
