Community Wealth Building Project shortlisted for major national award

Scotland Excel reaches the final of the Scottish Public Service Awards 2022!

We’re delighted to be in the running for the Scottish Public Service Awards (SPSA) 2022!

We have been shortlisted for the Commercial Partnerships Award for our innovative project to improve local economic growth, through community wealth building.

The shortlist for our community wealth building project comes just weeks after it was crowned winner of the Scottish GO Awards Supply Chain Diversity category.

Speaking about the recent GO Award win, Scotland Excel Convener, Councillor John Shaw, said: “The community wealth building project was an excellent piece of work - focusing on four sample councils to help them further drive the ethos of ‘grow local’ within their local supply base. It also created a toolkit for other councils to use, to strengthen local supply chains.”

The SPSA Commercial Partnerships Award recognises a team or individual that has demonstrated exemplary commercial practice, achieving better outcomes for public bodies through contract negotiations and management, commercial policy development, smart procurement, best practice supplier management, or new models of delivery.

The Scottish Public Service Awards will be announced on 7 December.
