About this framework

Framework period: 21 May 2025 to 11 May 2029

Scotland Excel’s third generation demolition and deconstruction works framework provides members with access to demolition and deconstruction works, ranging from simple shoring to complex multi-storey demolitions and provide vital emergency services.

As with all our frameworks, this framework was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and was developed in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.

Benefits

  • 28 councils have indicated participation in the framework
  • Lot 4 (Emergency demolition) pricing is fixed for 12 months
  • Of the 19 suppliers, 16 are classified as SMEs along with one micro businesses
  • Suppliers proposed several sustainability benefits such as:
    • on-site segregation of various waste streams to ensure the recovery and reuse of materials and minimising waste
    • sourcing materials and services locally to reduce transportation emissions and support the community
    • maintaining equipment to operate efficiently and reduce emissions
    • identifying recyclable materials prior to demolition to ensure the method of demolition maximises the materials that can be salvaged and reused
    • net zero policies in place to monitor carbon emissions and identify
      improvements to reaching net zero
  • All suppliers will deliver community benefits which are reflective of the Scottish Government’s National Outcomes
  • 18 pay the real living wage with eight of these formally accredited Real Living Wage Employers
