Rossie is a registered Scottish charity, dating back to 1857, located on the east coast of Scotland, and one of the UK’s longest established providers of children’s services.
Rossie is licensed by Scottish Ministers and regulated by the Care and Education Inspectorates, and the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Governance and strategic direction rest with a Board of Governors, who operate in a voluntary capacity, and discharge all responsibilities through the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leadership and Management Team. They are a learning organisation and are committed to ongoing development, improvement and innovation.
Rossie work with young people, boys and girls, aged 10-18 years old, who have been exposed to multiple adverse childhood experiences resulting in many complex needs and vulnerabilities. They understand that when children are exposed to adverse and stressful life events these can have a long-lasting impact on their ability to think, learn, develop, and interact with others. Rossie help young people deal with these traumatic events by providing age appropriate and relevant care, education, health, and therapeutic interventions and also commission independent advocacy and participation services for our young people.
