Procurex Scotland 2020

Procurex Scotland 2020 took place on Tuesday 27 October and Scotland's procurement community gathered for the annual "Festival of Procurement".

This year, the event took on a virtual format and delegates gathered - not in the SECC Glasgow as usual - but in dining rooms, studies, kitchens and other makeshift home offices.

There was a similar agenda to previous years but everything was delivered online.

Scotland Excel's Chief Executive, Julie Welsh, participated in a live panel discussion on the main conference agenda titled “The Procurement Vision for Public Sector in Scotland” with Nick Ford, Scottish Government; Angus Warren, APUC; and Gordon Beattie, NHS National Services Scotland. The heads of the respective Centres of Expertise answered audience questions on how procurement will be a key driver in Scotland's economic recovery.

Donnie MacRae, one of our Learning and Development Project Managers, co-hosted "Learning Flexibly and Remotely" with Gregor Hutton, Scottish Procurement and Steven Forsyth, NHS NSS to inform delegates how each of the organisations had adapted their learning and development offerings as a result of the pandemic.

In the “Future Shape of Procurement Zone”, Nick Hyde, our Commercial Manager, led a session on 'The Importance of Robust Supply Chains Post Covid-19'.

Our virtual exhibition stand was a focal point for visitors and our staff were kept busy throughout the day - many thanks if you popped by for a chat.
