Scottish businesses secure a place on national construction materials contract
New framework joins a suite of contracts in the specialist construction portfolio
Thirty four Scottish businesses have secured a place on our new construction materials contract, that’s expected to be worth £280m over four years.
Scotland Excel’s new framework for the Supply and Delivery of Construction Materials has gone live to help the country’s councils and housing associations source a range of construction and roads related materials.
It brings together six previous frameworks, to offer our members a one-stop-shop to source materials that include: electrical, building and timber, plumbing and heating, road maintenance, as well as trade materials that support construction projects, ongoing maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
The new framework will support council construction and roads departments to deliver a wide range of essential services including, housing, property maintenance, stores, roads, parts and repair, schools, and depots.
A total of 54 UK suppliers have been awarded onto the framework and now have the opportunity to secure a share of the business over the coming years.
The suppliers offer best value to Scotland Excel’s members and represent a mix of micro, small, medium and large companies. Of the 34 Scottish suppliers – 33 are SME or micro.
