About this framework

Framework period: 13 May 2024 to 12 May 2027 with an option to extend for a single twelve-month period

Scotland Excel’s cleaning equipment framework is a second-generation framework for members to buy a range of cleaning equipment like floor sweepers, scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, and associated products. The framework covers supply, delivery, maintenance and repair.

As with all our frameworks, this framework was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and was developed in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.

Benefits

  • 27 local authorities and Tayside Contracts have indicated their participation in the framework
  • Pricing is fixed for the first 12 months of the framework
  • All three suppliers are classified as SMEs
  • Suppliers proposed several sustainability benefits such as:
    • seeking advice from specialist consultants as and when required regarding management of waste to maintain a reduce, reuse and recycle culture
    • using effective route management to monitor journey routing, and fuel efficiency
    • electric vehicles are also being considered as technology improves
    • using environmental policies to address their carbon footprint and to seek innovation on new products from their own supply chain
  • All three suppliers will deliver community benefits which are reflective of the Scottish Government’s National Outcomes
  • All three suppliers pay the real living wage with one formally accredited
