About this framework

Framework period: 1 October 2018 until 30 September 2022

Scotland Excel’s first aid material framework provides members with easy and efficient access to a variety of first aid materials including first aid kits, gloves, ice and heat packs, wipes and tissues, hand sanitiser and soap, dressings and plasters. It also encompasses automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and will meet the needs of local authorities with AED programmes or Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) schemes.

The framework is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and offers social, economic and environmental benefits in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.

Benefits

  • Members can choose to use ‘one stop shop’ suppliers and/or specialist companies depending on their requirements
  • Suppliers to the framework represent a mix of company sizes including 6 micro and small medium suppliers
  • Suppliers will deliver community benefits which are reflective of the Scottish Government’s National Outcomes.
  • Suppliers have committed to minimising the environmental impact of their operations, particularly in relation to CO2 emissions, route planning, sustainability packaging and recycling.
  • All of the suppliers pay, or have committed to pay, the Scottish Living Wage, one supplier is an accredited living wage employer.

Key Facts

The framework adheres to the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
