About this framework
Framework period: 1 October 2023 until 30 September 2027
Scotland Excel’s fresh bread, rolls and bakery products framework provides members with a variety of fresh bread, rolls and bakery products including bread, white bread, pittas, wraps, potato scones, cakes, pastries and baguettes. Members using this framework are schools, nurseries, care homes, leisure centres, cafes, and office units.
As with all our frameworks, this framework was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and was developed in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.
Benefits
- 25 local authorities have confirmed participation.
- Prices are fixed for the first six months.
- All four suppliers are Scottish SMEs.
- Suppliers have committed to minimising the environmental impact of their operations, particularly in relation to:
- Plastic Reduction
- Reusable, Returnable Packaging Solutions
- CO2 Emissions
- Food Miles
- All suppliers will deliver community benefits which are reflective of the Scottish Government’s National Outcomes.
- One supplier is an accredited Real Living Wage employer.
- Two others pay the Real Living Wage.
