Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn was established in 2005 to undertake the community buyout of the Galson Estate, and to manage the land, for the benefit of the community and the environment. They work to ensure that the local community benefit from community ownership whilst also overseeing a range of projects to support and develop the area.

Current projects range from renewables, to tourism and youth engagement, and they also provide funding to community organisations via their Community Investment Fund.
