About this framework
Framework period: 1 September 2021 until 31 August 2025
Scotland Excel’s education and office furniture framework provides members with a variety of furniture suitable for classrooms, pre-5 environments, dining rooms and flexible learning spaces. This includes everything from classroom and flexible teaching spaces to dining areas through to standard and informal office accommodation.
The framework offers opportunities involving the Circular Economy (looks beyond make, take, dispose to recover, restore, regenerate), the training and development of skills and the further development of the supply base through several new small to medium enterprises (SME’s).
As with all our frameworks, this framework was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and was developed in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.

- Sustainable measures such as:
- Use of recycled content within products.
- Processes to support the reuse of packaging.
- Services to extend the useful life of products, such as take-back furniture schemes to repair and remanufacture products.
- Transport strategies to reduce the environmental impact of transportation.
- Adoption of alternatively fuelled vehicles, namely hybrid or electric, to reduce carbon emissions.
