About this framework

Framework period: 1 December 2025 to 30 November 2029

Scotland Excel’s education and office furniture framework will provide members with a means to procure a range of furniture suitable for classrooms, pre-5 environments, dining rooms, flexible learning and workspaces, office environments, meeting rooms and reception areas.

As with all our frameworks, this framework was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and was developed in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.

Benefits

  • All 32 councils confirmed their intention to participate in this framework along with associate members
  • Pricing is fixed for the initial 12-month period of the framework
  • Of the 25 suppliers, 24 are classified as SMEs along with one micro business
  • Suppliers proposed several sustainability benefits such as:
    • Transitioning all electricity purchases to renewable energy sources with Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) certificate
    • Reduce carbon emissions from plant and machinery
    • Sustainability projects include installing solar panels, incorporating biofuels, electric vehicle fleet
    • Committed to Net Zero Emissions by 2035
    • Working with suppliers who operate in an environmentally responsible manner, including the use of recycled materials where possible and they endeavour to only source products from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified suppliers
    • 100% recyclable packaging eliminating all polystyrene and other non-recyclable materials.
    • Reducing transport emission by optimizing delivery methods, using fuel efficient Euro 6 vehicles, consolidating shipments and working with partners who utilise compliant or electric vehicles
  • 24 of the 25 suppliers will deliver community benefits which are reflective of the Scottish Government’s National Outcomes
  • 22 suppliers pay the real living wage with nine of these formally accredited Real Living Wage Employers
