About this framework
Framework period: 1 March 2022 until 28 February 2026
Scotland Excel’s milk framework provides members with a variety of dairy products, including whole milk, semi-skimmed milk, skimmed milk, flavoured milk, organic milk, and fresh cream. The framework will comply with requirements detailed by the Schools (Health, Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2007, and the Nutritional requirement for Food and Drink in School (Scotland) regulations 2020 alongside the Scottish Milk & Healthy Snack Scheme.
As with all our frameworks, this framework was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and was developed in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.
Benefits
- One supplier has fixed pricing for 12 months, the other three for 6 months
- All four suppliers are classified as SMEs - three are Scottish businesses
- One supplier pays the Real Living Wage and another has committed to do so in the next two years
- Three suppliers have committed to providing community benefits.
- Suppliers have also committed to sustainable procurement benefits by:
- reducing their use of plastic
- recycling
- adding supply chain value
