About this framework

Framework period: 1 October 2022 until 30 September 2026

Scotland Excel’s roadstone materials framework covers a range of coated, uncoated and recycled roadstone, as well as ready mixed concrete to support the requirements of councils’ road departments.

As with all our frameworks, this third-generation framework was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and was developed in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.

Benefits

  • 21 local authorities are participating in this framework.
  • 10 of the 14 suppliers are classified as SMEs as well as one microbusiness.
  • Four months price stability from all suppliers.
  • A range of environmental measures were outlined by suppliers including:
    • recycling aggregates where possible.
    • implementing environmental initiatives.
    • controlling their fleet/vehicle environmental standards.
    • reducing carbon footprint and emissions.
    • waste reduction.
    • end of life recycling / disposing.
  • All suppliers have committed to deliver local community benefits.
  • 10 of the 14 suppliers pay the Real Living Wage.
