About this framework

Framework period: 15 July 2024 to 14 July 2026 with an option to extend for a further two 12-month periods

Scotland Excel’s technology enabled care goods framework provides councils with a range of goods including digital dispersed alarms, alarm triggers, health and care peripherals, smoke alarms, GPS devices with ancillary monitoring and phones and key storage compartments and other associated products.

Technology enabled care refers to the use of telecare in providing care for patients with long term conditions that is convenient, accessible and cost-effective. These solutions transform the way people engage in and control their own healthcare, empowering them to manage their care in a way that is right for them.

As with all our frameworks, this framework was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and was developed in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.

Benefits

  • 32 councils plus Tayside Contracts have confirmed their intention to participate in this framework
  • Pricing is fixed for the first 12 months of the framework
  • Of the 18 suppliers, 12 are classified as SMEs along with four micro businesses
  • Suppliers proposed several sustainability benefits such as:
    • minimising waste associated with packaging
    • demonstrating a reduce, reuse, recycle ethos
    • eliminating plastic packaging
    • aligning with the UK’s path to Net Zero
  • All suppliers will deliver community benefits which are reflective of the Scottish Government’s National Outcomes
  • All suppliers pay the real living wage with five of these formally accredited Real Living Wage Employers
