Benefits

• This framework supports waste management strategies and activities in compliance with the Zero Waste Plan and the Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012.
• All suppliers have agreed to a 12-month fixed price period at the start of the framework, with one recommended supplier offering a further fixed pricing period of an additional 12 months.
• There is a mix of micro, small, medium and large organisations, with eight of the suppliers classified as SMEs.
• Eight of the suppliers are Scottish businesses.
• 11 suppliers pay the Real Living Wage to their workforce. The twelfth supplier has committed to do so within three years.
• All framework suppliers will deliver local community benefits based on spend levels.
• A range of sustainable measures were outlined by suppliers including:
  • Adoption of hybrid or electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions.
  • Increased use of tracking systems on delivery vehicles, to optimize delivery routes.
  • Waste reduction.
• All suppliers have documented and auditable processes and procedures to re-use or recycle tyres where appropriate.
