About this framework

Framework period: 26 May 2021 until 31 March 2024 (with option to extend until 31 March 2025)

Scotland Excel’s 4th generation vehicle parts framework will provide members with a mechanism to procure a wide range of vehicle parts, windscreen replacement, auto electrics, specialist vehicles parts, hydraulics and workshop consumables to cover the varied fleet mix. This varied fleet mix incorporates everything from small cars and light commercial vehicles (including electric), up to 44 tonne refuse collection vehicles (RCV) and other specialist heavy vehicles.

As with all our frameworks, this contract was developed in close consultation with stakeholders. It is fully compliant with all legislative requirements and offers social, economic and environmental benefits in line with Scotland Excel’s sustainable procurement approach.

Benefits

  • Suppliers to the framework represent a mix of micro, small, medium and large organisations with 16 suppliers classified as SME’s.
  • All suppliers have committed to comply with our community benefits approach focused on supporting the Scottish Government’s National Performance Framework, and the benefits delivered should support:
    • reduced traffic congestion
    • improving the skill profile of the population
    • reducing Scotland’s carbon footprint
    • reduced waste generated
  • More than 75% of suppliers pay, or have committed to pay, the Real Living Wage.
  • Savings to this framework are around £145k per anum.
  • Sustainable measures outlined by suppliers include adoption of alternatively fuelled vehicles, namely hybrid or electric, to reduce carbon emissions, using biodegradable packing materials and recycling of all general waste, waste fuel, oils and oil filters.
